Indaians action against Yorkton last night

Aaron Dunsmore's fourth inning home run stood up as the winning run in a 3-1 victory for the Swift Current Indians over Yorkton last night. Garrett Anderson struck out seven over five and a third innings of work to get the win. DH Cody Phipps went two for three and was the only Indian with multiple hits.

"There is a couple things we kinda got to get better at though and one of them is the focus for nine innings, today it didn't seem like we had the same intesity and focus as we had yesterday." said Coach Joe Carnahan.

Up 3-0 in the top of the sixth inning, the Indians loaded the bases with nobody out and only gave up one run.

"You know that was big, that was a time in the game, mid to late innings there where you can kinda get the momentum going the other way but Garrett showed a lot of poise this year and did a good job getting his out then Chirs (Haddeland) came in and did a good job getting his double play ball." said Coach Carnahan.

Swift Current has now won four of their last five and the players in the clubhouse are feeling pretty upbeat.

"Winning cures a lot of things so if your winning a lot more your obviously having a good time a little bit more free and easy at the start when we were struggling guys were a little more intense but now it seems like we have loosened up a little bit and just trying to go about it and go about each day the same." said Indians outfielder Aaron Dunsmore.

Dunsmore has four hits, four RBI and a home run in his last three games.

"It's just always a work in progress it's definitely feeling a lot more comfortable. First year i didn't play college last year so it's been a little while so until i get a lot of those bats underneath my belt, i'm definitely feeling more comfortable then at the start of the year." said Dunsmore.

Two teams in the midst of a hot streak clash at Mitchell Field in WMBL play tonight. The Lethbridge Bulls are winners of three straight. First pitch is 7:05 tonight.
