The Swift Current Indians have all but assured themselves the top spot in the Eastern Conference after a 9-3 win against Melville last night at Mitchell Field.

The Indians scored five runs in the 6th inning to break open a 3-3 ball game.  Kyle Albright's two-run double proved to be the big blow.

On the mound, John Snyder tossed six solid innings allowing three runs to pick up the win.  He was happy to get back on track.

"I went out there and felt pretty good.  My last two outings haven't been up to par so it was good to get our team this big win to get ourselves ready for playoffs."

The Indians improve to 26-12 on the season and will conclude the campaign tonight in Moose Jaw in a double-header of sorts.  The two teams will pick up a suspended game from July 13th with the Indians leading 5-4 in the ninth inning.  The game was suspended because of a power outage in the late stages.  The two teams will then play their regularly scheduled game.

Playoffs will begin in a few days.  The Tribe will face either Yorkton or Melville in the opening round best-of-five series.
