Despite missing more than half of their roster, the Swift Current Indians continue nightly workouts.

Several players remain with their US College teams.

The Indians' season is 10 days away from opening up on the road in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

One of the local veterans who is back for another summer is Cole Armstrong.  He knows the landscape of the team has changed, but is confident in the returning players and what he's heard about the new crop of American imports.  "We have one of the top guys to ever play in this league leading us this year in Coach Joe Carnahan.  Plus, a guy who has logged as many innings as anybody ever in this league with Conrad Funk.  We have a good base; there are some local faces missing, but I think with guys like Dustin Bissonnette that has seen a lot of action in this league and has been very successful, I think we're on the right track."

Several import players are expected to arrive within the week.
