Brennan Peterson went 4 for 5 on Saturday

The Swift Current Indians spoiled Saskatoon's playoff hopes last night with a 17-4 win over the Yellow Jackets.

It didn't take the Tribe long to get their bats going as they struck for 6 runs in the first inning and 3 in the second. They added 3 in the 5th, 4 in the 6th and another run in the 7th.

Brennan Peterson went 4 for 5 with a home run, 4 runs and 2 RBI. David Greenstein, Aaron Dunsmore and Tanner Morache each went 3 for 5. Greenstein also hit his second home run of the season.

Eric Huson got the win on the mound for the Tribe. He allowed 7 hits and 3 earned runs over 6 innings of work.

The victory extended Swift Current's winning streak to nine games. It also officially eliminated Saskatoon from playoff contention and helped Moose Jaw clinch second place in the WMBL Central Division. The Indians clinched first place earlier this week.

The Indians and Yellow Jackets play again tonight at Mitchell Field. First pitch is 7:05pm.

Swift Current opens the playoffs on Tuesday. They play either Lethbridge or Okotoks.
