The Swift Current Indians are facing a must-win game Saturday night in the WMBL Championship Final, after dropping an 8-3 decision to the Medicine Hat Mavericks in game three of the best of five series Friday night at Athletic Park.
Bryan Arthur and Brody Hawkins had two RBI each and Jon Rand allowed three runs over 8-2/3 innings to lift the Mavericks to a 2-1 lead in the series.
Liam Goodall was 3-for-1 with a run batted in for the Tribe, who only managed five team hits in the game. Starter Steven Thompson allowed five runs and seven hits in six innings for the loss.
Game four of the series goes Saturday night in Medicine Hat with Swift Current needing to win in order to force a fifth and deciding game Sunday at Mitchell Field.
