The Swift Current Indians took on the Mavericks in Medicine Hat Saturday night

The Swift Current Indians dropped a 7-6 decision to the Medicine Hat Mavericks on the road Saturday night.

The Tribe built a 5-1 lead by the sixth inning, but lost the lead, and eventually the game. Coach Joe Carnahan called it a missed opportunity, saying post-game that anytime you get a lead on an opponent you expect to win the game, and they need that killer instinct after blowing two big leads in a row. On Friday, the Indians squandered an 8-1 lead to Moose Jaw but won that game 12-10.

Carnahan adds their defence needs to get better, saying that they have a good offensive lineup, but not one that can put up 10 to 12 runs per game, and if they can't field the ball, they're not going to win too many games.

Swift Current heads to Weyburn on Monday.
