The Swift Current Indians have put an end to their season long 8 game losing streak.

The Tribe got back in the win column last night, with a 9-6 rain shortened victory over the Moose Jaw Miller Express at Mitchell Field.

Swift Current Right Fielder Nate Ackerman led the Indians on offence. Ackerman went had 4 hits and a walk in his 5 plate appearances, one of those hits was a 2-run home run. Ackerman tallied a total of 3 RBI's last night, while scoring 2 runs.

Jose Rojas, Chad Schultz, Kevin Bettencourt and Casey Bang drove in the other 6 runs for the Tribe.

Indians' Starting Pitcher David Stagg picked up the win on the mound.

Stagg went 6 innings, giving up 5 runs, 3 of them earned, while striking out 5.

Robbie DeVries then pitched 2 innings of relief, holding the Miller Express to 1 run, before the game was called after the 8th inning.

With their losing streak now in the rear view mirror, Swift Current will have an opportunity, beginning tonight, to put together a winning streak.

The Tribe will be in Moose Jaw for the second half of their home and home tonight, before travelling to Edmonton for 2 games against the Prospects over the weekend.
