The Swift Current Indians start the WMBL playoffs tonight at home against Lethbridge. Indians Pitcher Alex Tufts used to play for the Bulls and said they have a working knowledge of some of their players.

"Oh well Kirk (Haviland) and I both played at Prairie Baseball Academy and Luke (Barry) as well so we know some of the hitters," Tufts said. "A lot of guys are from that system so ya we got a good idea of what to expect."

Veteran Aaron Dunsmore was part of the championship team in 2010 and knows what it takes to get back.

"We got to be able to still treat it basically like it's the regular season, not put to much pressure on yourself," said Dunsmore. "It's just another day we are used to playing every single day all summer long so there's really no need to change things once you get to playoffs so as long as you can stay confident and stay relaxed that will give you your best chance to win."

The Indians slugger finished his final WMBL season as one of the top hitters in the league. He was third in three categories: batting average, home runs and RBI's.

"Definitely feels pretty cool to be able to do that in a league like this, especially in Swift Current," Dunsmore added. "It's just good every where you go around the city people know ya so that definitely helps out. Those little things when you play you want to play for the fans that come out and watch ya especially in smaller communities where the fans rally around the team."

He was one of only three WMBL players with a batting average over .400.  It has been one of his best seasons at the plate.

"Probably ya just tried to simplify things more," Dunsmore said. "Tried to let the ability take over a bit not try and do to much and luckily just trying to do the right thing and helped out. Couple line drives end up leaving the ball park and it's easy to start feeling confident after that."

The Bulls have some big bats led by Jesse Sawyer's 12 home runs and 45 RBIs. Swift Current won all four games in the season series. Game time is 7:05 at Mitchell Field tonight.
