Conrad Funk made an impact in his final WMBL regular season game.

The Swift Current Indians closed out the WMBL regular season on a high note with a 6-2 win over the Moose Jaw Millar Express.

The teams traded runs throughout the first six innings until the Tribe took control with four runs in the bottom of the seventh. Colin Hetzler went 2 for 4 and scored twice while Conrad Funk scored once and drove in a run.

A rule change for next year means it was the final regular season game for Funk and eight other Indians who are more than a year removed from their college careers. The veteran of sixteen seasons and eight championships says he's not thinking about the end much as Swift Current heads into the playoffs.

The Indians finished 25-15 to win the Central Division.  However, they will cross into the West Division and start the playoffs as a third seed against the Medicine Hat Mavericks. The controversial playoff format sees Swift Current start as a road team despite a 0.625 winning percentage while Melville hosts a playoff series despite finishing second in the East Division with a 0.476 winning percentage.

Games 1 and 2  of the Indians first round series are in Medicine Hat on Saturday and Sunday nights at 7:05pm. The Eagle 94.1 will broadcast all Indians playoff road games.
