A pair of goals from Reed Jacobson and 20 saves from Jacob Herman gave the Kabos Bantam 'AA' Broncos a 1-0 series lead over the Estevan Bruins Wednesday night at the Fairview Arenas.

Playing host to the Bruins in game one of their best of three South Division quarter-final series, the Broncos used two first period goals and two more in the third to come away with a 4-1 victory.

Rhett Evjen put Swift Current on the board first with a power-play goal early in the opening frame, giving the Broncos a 1-0 lead.

Then with just over two minutes remaining in the first period, the team's leading scorer during the regular season, Reed Jacobson found the back of the net to double the Swift Current advantage to 2-0.

However, the two-goal lead was short-lived as Estevan scored their first goal of the contest just 18 seconds later.

For majority of the game, the score stayed 2-1 in favour of Swift Current.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the second period, and it was much of the same for most of the third period as well.

With just 3:35 left to play in the game, Jacobson one-timed a pass from Keagon Little for his second goal of the contest for a 3-1 lead.

Then with just over a minute left to play, Riley Dekowny put home a short-handed tally to put the game away and give Swift Current a 4-1 win.

Although he did not find the back of the net during the game, Little did pick up two more assists to go along with his pass to Jacobson for a three assist night.

Swift Current will now look to eliminate the Bruins from playoffs on Saturday when the two teams meet for game two in Estevan.

If necessary, game three would be played Sunday in Swift Current.
