Canada nailed down first place overall at the Ford World Women's Curling Championships in Swift Current.

The Jennifer Jones rink beat Scotland 8-5 in their final round-robin game to lock up first place, and move to tonight's 1 vs 2 page playoff game.  They'll take on Germany, who won 8-2 over Switzerland.

Jennifer Jones says they played as a team, had some fun, and enjoyed the crowd.  Knowing it was going to be a sell-out, they were going to enjoy it.  The attendance for Draw 17 was a standing-room only crowd of 2723.

The game did have some unwanted exposure, with some fans in kilts showing the Canadian Skip what's under them; the act ended up on TSN's broadcast.  Fortunately, the fans were wearing underwear.  Jones says she's doesn't get flashed on national TV very often, and she also doesn't get first after round-robin play very often.

Meanwhile, Scotland drops to third place with that loss and Germany's win.  Skip Eve Muirhead says it was a tough game, and they want to try to put it behind them as they get set for the 3 vs 4 game tomorrow, knowing they're two matches away from the final they've always wanted to get to.

Scotland will play the winner of a tie-breaker for fourth place, with the USA and Sweden battling it out for the last playoff spot today at 1:30pm from the Credit Union iplex.

Canada takes on Germany, with the winner going right to Sunday's gold medal match, at 8:00pm tonight.
