Coach Chapman: We did not compete as well as would have liked in the 1st period but then we started playing a couple of our energy lines a bit more in the second and it seemed to bring our team to life. Real happy with the second and third periods as I thought we controlled the play offensively and really limited them defensively. Rempel-Roosen-Johnston line was particularly sharp tonight.

Nov 20, 2010 vs Regina Capitals

Took 4/8 minors. Outshot Regina 56-27. Kyle Garland the win in goal.

Coach Chapman: Satisfied with the win, thought we got a bit too cute the last 10 mins of the game and gave up a couple of late goals that were not necessary. Empey-Fournier-Kaake line was very effective on the forecheck and creating offensive chances. Absolutely thrilled we went 3 for 4 on power play tonight.

On the weekend: Thought the weekend was a success. Kudos to our defence core which has been playing short staffed for about a month and are still gutting it out. Pleased the guys have started to buy in to our offensive scheme of driving the net with the puck and been shooting the puck instead of making the extra fancy play. Evidence of that is the 98 shots fired at the opponent and scoring 12 goals on the weekend. Our forward depth is starting to show as we are getting production from any given forward unit any given game.

Hurricanes have won five in a row and sit in first place (11-3-4). Next action is Saturday the 27th in Balgonie.
