Shaunavon's Kale Kessy could soon find himself in the desert.

Phoenix drafted the bruising Medicine Hat Tigers forward in the fourth round of the NHL draft, 111th overall.

Kessy scored 10 goals and had 14 assists for 24 points in his second WHL season.

He also fought 11 times and had 129 penalty minutes.

Kessy told the NHL team's official website he was very happy to be going to an organization like the Coyotes.

He describes himself as a hard working and physical player.

Kessy was ranked 101rst among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting.

He attended the draft in Minnesota and was on hand to receive his first Coyotes jersey and hat.
