Another day, another trade this week for the Swift Current Broncos, as the second of the week sees defenceman Noah King headed to the Spokane Chiefs as part of a six-piece deal.

Along with King, the Broncos dealt the rights to goaltender Matthew Davis, and a conditional draft pick in the 2021 WHL Bantam Draft.

Headed Swift Current's way are 17-year-old Carter Chorney, and the rights to both Kye Buchanan and Devin Aubin.

Head coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Dean Brockman, spoke with Shawn Mullin, Voice of the Broncos, on the deal:

Chorney, the centrepiece of Swift Current's return, is the Chiefs' second-round draft pick from the 2016 draft.

In 27 games this season with Spokane, Chorney has racked up eight goals and 12 total points. As a 16-year-old, the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder appeared in 41 games, adding a pair of goals. He suited up in two playoff contests as well.

Buchanan is the second forward in the deal. The 6-foot-3, 187-pound product of Lethbridge suited up in four games with the AJHL's Lloydminster Bobcats this season notching an assist.

Though, the majority of his season has been spent over 12 appearances with the Midget AAA St. Albert Raiders. Four goals and seven points have been notched by Buchanan.

The lone blueliner headed to the Broncos is a former fourth-round bantam draft pick by the Chiefs (75th overall in 2018).

Aubin, from Fahler, Alberta, is the former Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League 'Defenceman of the Year' dating back to the 2017-18 season. The 15-year-old posted nine goals and 11 points in 19 regular season games, adding two goals in three playoff games.

Meanwhile this season, Aubin has logged 20 regular season games in the Alberta Midget Hockey League, posting two goals and an assist.

As for the Broncos' assets headed to the Pacific Northwest, King is a stout defensive defenceman, now into his second full WHL season.

Last year with the WHL Champion Broncos, King posted five assists in the regular season and one goal in the playoffs. This season he has two goals and six points in 25 games.

And, goalie Matthew Davis, an unsigned listed player by the Broncos, is posting strong stats in the AJHL this season.

The 5-foot-11, 17-year-old goalie has posted a 1.70 goals-against-average and .925 save-percentage in 17 appearances with the Spruce Grove Saints in 2018-19.

With both King and Max Patterson gone in separate deals this week, the Broncos will have an even tougher task fending off the number one team in the country tonight at home.

The Swift Current Broncos welcome the Prince Albert Raiders to the Innovation Credit Union iPlex tonight. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m., with the Robertson Family Group Broncos Hockey pregame show live at 6:30.
