The Max Kirkpatrick rink in action against Jason Krupski Friday morning

The early draws at the Sasktel Southern Men's Curling Playdowns went this morning at the Credit Union iplex.

After winning his opening game yesterday, Swift Current's Max Kirkpatrick dropped his game 9-6 to Jason Krupski from the Whitewood Curling Club.

Kirkpatrick says they had a tough game: "We didn't curl very good today, we didn't deserve to win, I guess. We started out good, played the first half of the game not bad, and missed a few key shots in the second half, and the better team won."

In other games, Randy Bryden from the Regina Callie curling club beat Regina Highland's Chris Busby 7-5, Brent Goeres from Regina Highland won against Langenburg's Jeff Hartung 4-2, and It was Estevan's Brent Gedak beating Al Schick from Regina Highland 9-3.

This afternoon's 3:00pm draw sees Regina Highland's Derek Boe vs. Assiniboia's Glenn Batty, Assiniboia's Alan Batty vs Regina Highland's Mark Weiss, Steven Slupski from the Moose Jaw Curling Club vs Brad Law from Regina Tartan, and Swift Current's Rod Quintin vs Garrett Vey.
