Swift Current's Max Kirkpatrick will continue his quest for another provincial curling championship as he brings his team through the Affinity Credit Union Senior Men's playdowns.

Kirkpatrick, who won a provincial and Canadian championship with his mixed team last year, will open play at the Southern Playdowns in Weyburn against Ken Rodgers of Regina this afternoon.

He's one of three local skips at the playdowns. Clayton Wicks of the Swift Current Curling Club will also play this afternoon against Regina's Ken Petruic, and Shaunavon's Grant Selvig will take on Regina's Al Schick tonight.

The triple-knockout event runs to Sunday, and four qualifiers from the weekend will move on to the provincial championship in Watrous, which starts on February 10th.
