A good showing for a local rink at a World Curling Tour event in Medicine Hat this weekend.
The Max Kirkpatrick foursome from the Swift Current Curling Club made it to the semi-finals of the Medicine Hat Charity Classic, but lost 6-4 to Regina's Scott Bitz. Randy Bryden, who also curls out of the Queen City, beat Bitz 7-2 in the final.
Twenty-four teams from five different countries took part in the event with $34,000 in prize money up for grabs.
