A bounce back performance Wednesday night for Max Kirkpatrick has his Swift Current rink in the win column after one day at the Affinity Credit Union Senior Joint Curling Provincial Championship.

Playing his first game of the bonspiel Wednesday afternoon at the Credit Union iPlex, Kirkpatrick was never able to get much going against Saskatoon's Brian Humble in a 7-2 loss, but quickly bounced back in the evening draw.

Going up against Daryl Williamson of Moosomin, the Swift Current skip put three points on the board in the 2nd end after blanking the first.

After the lead was trimmed to 3-2 entering the 6th end the, Kirkpatrick picked up a single point but had the chance for more.

Playing a short raise take-out for potentially four points, Kirkpatrick's last rock did not curl up in time and he was forced to settle for one.

The Swift Current rink was able to steal another point in the 7th though to extend their lead to 5-2 before running Williamson out of rocks in the final end.

Kirkpatrick and his team are back on the ice Thursday morning at 9:00am against Brent Franco before taking on Bryan Rindal at 2:30pm.
