Both Swift Current rinks got off to great starts at the Affinity Credit Union Senior Men's southern curling playdowns in Weyburn.
Max Kirkpatrick beat Ken Rodgers 7-5 in his opening game, while Clayton Wicks doubled up Ken Petruic 6-3. They both have A event games this morning where Kirkpatrick will face Brad Heidt of Kerrobert, and Wicks will take on Regina's Brian Derbowka.
Meanwhile, Shaunavon's Grant Selvig lost his opening game 6-1 to Al Schick Thursday night, and will take on Bill Weppler in the B event this afternoon.
Action continues through Sunday.
