The Swift Current Broncos are coming off of a 4-3 win against the Moose Jaw Warriors last night in their first rookie exhibition game.

The Warriors led the game until overtime when Tyler Steenberger scored just 34 seconds in to give the Swift Current Broncos their win.

Head Coach and General Manager Mark Lamb says he was generally impressed with what he saw last night from the team.

"There's always good and bad, especially in exhibition games. The first two periods our mentality was we were out there playing there was a lot of inexperience, we had to get harder in the third period get more direct, get shooting the puck and work off the shot," said Lamb.

Lamb says the win has a lot to do with the goal tending from rookie Travis Child.

"He needs to play like that, and I thought when the game was on the line he made the big saves. I think that is why we won the game if you look at a turning point, when they went up three-one we go down and we get a goal that probably shouldn't have went in and there is a turning point of the game when goal tending can do," said Lamb.

The Broncos will be in Edmonton for their next Exhibition game on Saturday against the Oil Kings.
