Swift Current Broncos Coach and General Manager Mark Lamb was among the over 150 Edmonton Oilers alumni in attendance last night as they played their final game at Rexall Place.

Lamb and the other alumni were part of events all day and introduced to the crowd at the conclusion of the 6-2 Oilers win over Vancouver.

He had also been honoured by the Oilers during a game against Dallas in December.

"There's all kinds of memories," Lamb said at that time.. "The reason the memories are here is because the building hasn't changed a lot. Everyone is going to miss it that ever played here."

The Cadillac product really appreciated the way the Oilers reached out to more than just their famous alumni in celebrating their history this season.

"It was very exciting," Lamb noted after the December ceremony. "They do things the right way around here. They always have and they always will."

"You don't have to be Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier. They really look to all the people that played in their organization."

Lamb played 176 of his 406 NHL games as a member of the Oilers. He also played a big role in helping them to the 1990 Stanley Cup with 17 points in those 22 playoff games.

The Oilers and the WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings will move downtown to the new Rogers Place arena next season.
