Lambert win
Zane Lambert shows off his championship buckle after winning Saturday's event

If Zane Lambert liked bull riding in Swift Current last year, he loves it now.

The Westbourne, MB cowboy won his 2nd-straight Cody Snyder Invitational PBR on Saturday, with an 88 on "Grey Water" in the first round.

"It's kind of the luck of the draw getting that bull... one that could win the long round" Lambert said. "He tested me but I got by him, I got a good score, and that's what won me the event."

Zane Lambert talked with reporters after the event

The opening round ride stood up after Lambert and the nine other short go riders were bucked off on their final rides.

"I rode that bull here last year in the long go, and should have rode him," he added. "If I had him again, I know I've got him again, but it's just one of those times, I guess he just pressured up and couldn't get by him today."

Even though the bulls won the final round, Lambert says this was another great event in Swift Current. He has been near the top of the PBR Canada standings and said this win could help him take over the lead.

Ty Pozzobon of Merritt, BC took second place with an 86, while Meadow Lake's Cody Coverchuk scored an 85 to finish 3rd.
