Zane Lambert hangs on "Ram Rod" for his PBR title clinching ride Saturday

The Redhead Equipment Cody Snyder PBR Invitational saw its second champion crowned Saturday night.

Zane Lambert of Westbourne, Manitoba, rode "Ram Rod" in the final round and scored an 87.5 to take the title with a combined two-ride score of 171.

"The second bull I got on... they've taken him to the Canadian Finals last year and a couple of guys here had got on him and they told me what he kind of did, and so I was kind of set up for him to spin right and he did spin right, and everything really worked out there, too." Lambert said after the event. "Just kept my hands shut, there were a couple of times that bull had me bucked off, but I kept going to him and I made the whistle."

Lambert was in Swift Current for the first PBR event in the city, and this year's win is a sheer improvement from his showing last year. "I didn't do so good last year, I bucked off in the first round, but I redeemed myself this year, and it's been going my way, so hopefully we can keep this going throughout the rest of the season."

Stetson Lawrence of Williston, North Dakota, was the only other rider to stay on for eight seconds in the final round, and finished second with a combined score of 167.5.

Last year's champion, Scott Schiffner, had an 81 in the long round to make it to the finals, but was bucked off in the championship round.
