Speedy Creek Raceway hosted a two-day race event featuring the Northern Thunder Dirt Late Models.

This was the first time the Late Models have appeared in Swift Current, and when the dust settled Saturday night, it was #0 Chris Dunn of the United States who took home the championship for the CanAm Late Model Challenge.  

The Street Stock Class also ran on Friday night with the following drivers taking home the wins:
Heat 1A - #44 Kevin Schafer
Heat 1B – #98 Darryl Kehler
Heat 2A – #76 Phil Zanger
Heat 2B - #5K Stephan Klym
And #35 – Mike Dionne taking the Feature.

The Truck and Hobby Classes had their turn on Saturday night with Truck Class wins going to:
#27 – James Dumont for Heat 1
#01 – Stuart Johnson for Heat 2
And #S3 Colton Coward taking the Feature.

In the Hobby Class, it was:
#7 – Carson Crowe for Heat 1
And #5 – Destiny Klym for Heat 2 and the Feature.

There was also a Street Stock Cash Dash on Saturday night, and it was Terry Davidson in the T2 car that took home the cash prize at the end of the 30 laps.  

As an added attraction, Local Modified Racer, Bob Heffer, was driving a 2-seater Late Model and giving rides to enthusiastic fans,  19 rides in all over the 2 days were given, and the average lap time that he was running with a fan in the passenger seat was around 16.5 seconds.  

The Modifieds are back on August 9th, along with the Streets, Hobbies and Trucks.
