Although still chasing that elusive first victory, the losing streak came to a halt Wednesday night.

After dropping their first five games to open the 2017 season, the Swift Current Midget 'AAA' 57's travelled to Regina and played to a 4-4 tie against the Athletics.

As the game carried into the later stages, it appeared the 57's may be heading to a sixth straight loss, until the 6th inning.

With one-out in the top of the 6th, and trailing the A's 4-1, Swift Current put together three straight hits to cash-in a pair of runs and trim the lead to 4-3.

Ayden Annala, Quinn Patenaude and Brock Wall combined for the three hits, with Wall's base knock driving in both runs.

Then, still trailing by one run in the top of the 7th, the 57's managed to tie the game.

Down to their final out, with a runner on second, Ethan Warkentin came up with a clutch RBI Double to score Logan Fritzke from second and even the score 4-4.

In the bottom half of the inning, Fritzke worked around a walk with three strike-outs to end the game in a draw.

Dayne Stenson picked up the first RBI of the game for Swift Current, scoring Fritzke from third base in the 1st inning.

With the tie, the 57's record now sits at 0-5-1.

Next up for the Midget 'AAA' 57's is a home game on May 24th.

The 57's will welcome the Regina White Sox to Mitchell Field with first pitch scheduled for 7:00pm.
