Former Swift Current Broncos goaltender Eetu Laurikainen came up just short in voting for the Finnish Elite League's rookie of the year award.
His Blues teammate Otso Rantakari won the Jarmo Wasaman Memorial Award with 167 total voting points versus 107 points for Laurikainen.
Laurikainen went 17-10-9 for the Espoo Blues with a 2.10 goals against average and 0.933 save percentage.
Rantakari is a rookie defenceman who had 29 points in 56 games with the Blues.
