The Home Hardware Midget 'AAA' Legionnaires season came to an end yesterday, but not without one last victory.

The Legionnaires ended their season on a high note yesterday scoring a 5-4 shootout win in Tisdale over the Trojans.

Despite out-shooting the Trojans 17-9 in the opening period, Swift Current trailed 1-0 after one.

The Legionnaires were able to get on the board early in the second though.

Matthew Kesslering found the back of the net just under three minutes into the frame, tying the game 1-1.

The Trojans would regain the lead however, but with 4:39 left in the middle period, Caleb Griffin put Swift Current back on even terms, before Carter Tangen gave the Legionnaires their first lead of the game at 2:41, making the score 3-2.

Still leading by one early in the third, Tisdale tied the game 3-3.

Then, with just 2:19 remaining in regulation, the Trojans appeared to put the final nail in the Legionnaires coffin, as they beat Thomas Martineau for the fourth time.

Still trailing in the final minute, the Legionnaires pulled Martineau for the extra attacker and it paid off.

With only 17 seconds left on the clock Matthew Kesslering found the back of the net for the second time, knotting the game up 4-4.

After overtime solved nothing, the two teams went to a shoot-out.

Neither teams first three shooters were able to score, but shooting fourth for Swift Current, Jake Misskey changed that.

Misskey found the back of the net, which, combined with another Martineau save in the shoot-out gave Swift Current a 5-4 win to end their season.

The Legionnaires wrapped up the regular season with a record of 12-30-0-2.
