The Home Hardware Legionnaires wrapped up the season with a 7-7 tie against the Notre Dame Hounds at home last night.

The Legionnaires held a 5-1 lead in the second, and held off a rally by the Hounds, who scored five unanswered to take the lead after 40 minutes.

"Pretty proud of the boys," said  Assistant Coach Scott Cassidy. "It's pretty tough to play when you've been eliminated from the playoffs. You really have got nothing to play for except the boys in the room. They did it for each other tonight and it looked great."

Dawson Tangen had a hat trick for the Legionnaires in his final game in midget hockey.  Swift Current also graduates Reid Fritzke, Shane Blomquist, Morgan Greve, and Kyler Sachkowski.

They have a big returning core of players and are hopeful that will mean more success next season.

"They worked, they're here, they're friends, they play for each other," Cassidy said. "They know the system here. They're going to come back and I think next year this team has potential to do a lot better."

The Legionnaires finished 8-31-3-1 on the season. Kolby Johnson led the team with 23 goals and 36 points. Defenceman and captain Reid Fritzke was second in scoring with 31 points.
