Beating out seven other bids, the Home Hardware AAA Legionnaires have won the right to host a major tournament next April.

     The Legionnaires will host the 2009 Telus Cup Regional Championships. 

     They unveiled the news at a media conference yesterday.  The winner of the tournament gets a berth in the Telus Cup National Championship.

     The Legionnaires, who get an automatic berth in the tournament as hosts, will welcome the AAA League winners from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Northern Ontario.

     The team will also use the event as a recruiting tool to try and ice the best team possible next season.
