Home Hardware Legionnaires forward Jerzy Orchard put pen to paper with the Kamloops Blazers on Friday, signing a standard player agreement with the WHL club.

Orchard was drafted by the Blazers in the fifth round (110th overall) of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

Last year the 2001-born Orchard was bitten by the injury bug, suiting up in just 25 regular season contests and four playoff games with the Legionnaires.

He cruised to 27 regular-season points (12 G, 15 A), adding an assist in the playoffs.

The signing comes after Orchard impressed in Blazers main camp last week, according to Kamloops GM Matt Bardsley.

Orchard played one of two preseason games over the weekend for the Blazers. He logged two shots on net and a rating of -1 in a 4-2 loss to Victoria on Saturday.

Three more preseason dates remain - September 7, 8, and 15.
