Reed Jacobson had two assists yesterday as the Swift Current Legionnaires beat the hosting Moose Jaw Generals 4-2.

Swift Current goalie Ethan Hein picked up three penalties at the same time, a slashing minor, a tripping major, and a game misconduct with 11:28 minutes left in the game.

Before being ejected from the game due to the misconduct, Hein made 17 shots on 18 saves.

Darren Evjen, the head coach with the Legionnaires, said he didn't agree with the penalty called against his goaltender.

"Ethan Hein went out to poke a puck out, it was almost a breakaway, the guy ran into him, and we ended up with a five-minute major. That's not up to me, that's up to the referee and the league."

Jacob Herman took over in the remaining time, stopping six of seven shots.

The Legionnaires scored two goals in each of the first two periods, and the Generals couldn't keep up, scoring once in both the second and third.

At the final buzzer, Swift Current had outshot Moose Jaw 34 to 26.

Goals from Swift Current came from Riley Dekowny, Boston Bird, Joe Arntsen, and Logan Linklater.

On the power play side of things, the Broncos capitalized on one of their five, while the Generals were two for six.

The next time the 5-2-0 Broncos play is October 16 on the road against the 4-0-1 Regina Pat Canadians.
