A bit of a boost to the Midget AAA playoff fortunes of the Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires.
A Battlefords player was deemed ineligible from their January 12th game and the Stars forfeited their win to the Legionnaires.
It only helps if they take advantage of it.
Full Interview with Dale Vossen"Lets seize the opportunity that's here now that we have gotten two extra points and put's us five points out of a playoff spot as off today," said Legionnaires Head Coach Dale Vossen. "We've got to help ourselves at some point of the season here and I think it's time for our guys. If we want to be a playoff team we got to step up and show everyone else in this league we want to be in the playoffs and I have no doubt in my mind the guys will be ready for Regina."
The Legionnaires have a tough schedule coming up with a visit to the 4th place Regina Pat Canadians on Saturday and hosting the 2nd place Saskatoon Contacts next Tuesday.
"We have to play a fore check game, we have to dump and force their defencemen to turn and face the glass," said Vossen about Regina. "The games we have played against them we have done well as long as we continue to play that game but as soon as we back off then they start coming at ya."
Vossen added they are in playoff mode now as almost every game they play until the end of the season is a four point game with their playoff lives on the line.
