Just one year since stepping in as Head Coach for the AAA Midget boys squad, Kent Woods has been relieved of his duties with the Home Hardware Legionnaires.

The decision came down from the team's Board of Directors just prior to yesterday game against Moose Jaw.

General Manager Jim Dekowny says the news was relatively unexpected, stating that it caught a few people by surprise.  "It's not easy on anybody," states Dekowny.  "I think everybody was pretty close and good friends.  He did a lot of good things for this organization, and there's still a lot of questions unanswered."

Woods' record since stepping in as Head Coach last October sat at 17-36-4-3.

In the interim, Assistant Coach Regan Darby will step in as Head Coach for the remainder of the season.

The Legionnaires sit at 9th place in the SMAAAHL standings with a record of 11-14-2-1 this season, and they just two points out of the playoff picture.
