Legionnaires Nov18

The Home Hardware Midget AAA Legionnaires picked up a big 5-1 win at home over the Moose Jaw Generals Tuesday night for their second victory in four games.

Moose Jaw scored the opening goal 2:06 into the game, but the Legionnaires responded with five unanswered goals, including two from captain Connor Odelein, who added an assist for a three-point night.

"It was a good 60 minutes and a full effort from the guys," Odelein said. "Three points is good, but getting two points as a team after is an even better feeling."

Kevin Bendall had a goal and a helper, and Gage Misskey and Tanner Brewster also scored for Swift Current, who outshot the Generals 39-33. Goaltender Chantz Vinck rebounded from the early goal allowed and turned away the Generals' other 32 shots to earn the victory.

"You just can't really think about it," Vinck said after the game. "Goals happen, so you just have to let it pass, refocus and stay in there."

The Legionnaires visit the Notre Dame Hounds Thursday night in Wilcox, and then host the Battlefords Stars for two games Saturday and Sunday.

In minor hockey tonight, the K-Motel Midget AA Hurricanes host the Notre Dame Argos in a rematch of a game on Friday, where the Hurricanes lost 4-0 in Wilcox. Face-off is at 7:30pm from the Fairview Arenas.
