Legionnaires VS Contacts

The Home Hardware Midget 'AAA' Legionnaires put an end to their three game losing streak yesterday afternoon.

Playing the Saskatoon Contacts for the second time in as many days, Swift Current skated away with a 3-1 victory.

Thomas Martineau was strong in goal for Swift Current throughout the game.

Martineau turned aside 36 of the 37 shots he faced.

Offensively, Matthew Kesslering and Caleb Griffin were the goal scorers for the Legionnaires.

Kesslering opened the scoring in the game just over six minutes in.

The Contacts would go on to tie the game 1-1, which is where the score stood entering the second.

It appeared the score was going to stay 1-1 heading into the second intermission as well, however, with just 11 seconds left in the period, Caleb Griffin restored the Legionnaires one goal lead.

Still up 2-1 late in the third, Griffin fired home his second of the game giving the Legionnaires a 3-1 advantage.
