A split with Saskatoon wrapped up the Midget AAA pre-season for the Home Hardware Legionnaires.

Matthew Audette scored twice in a 4-3 overtime victory over the Blazers on Saturday in Swift Current. Eric Saleski and Daylan Gatzke also scored for Swift Current. Kyler Beckett made 21 saves to earn the victory.

Swift Current Broncos prospect Brendan Hopkins ended up with 22 minutes in penalties for the Blazers.

The Legionnaires nearly had another come from behind story on Sunday as they erased a 3-1 deficit in the third period. The Blazers then scored a late goal to win 4-3 in front of their fans.

Justin Spagrud had a goal and an assist for the Legionnaires. He recently returned from Victoria Royals camp.

Audette and Edwin Hookenson had the other Swift Current markers. Luke Grassl made 30 saves in a losing cause.

The Legionnaires finished exhibition with a 2-1 record after playing in three one-goal games. They kick off their regular season this Saturday in Moose Jaw.
