A strong start with lots of shots early on appeared to be a good sign for the Home Hardware Midget 'AAA' Legionnaires.

However, a bad sign for Swift Current was Moose Jaw Generals goalie Hunter Arps did not allow a single one of them past him.

Throughout Tuesday night's contest between the Generals and Legionnaires Arps remained the story, turning away every chance Swift Current directed his way as the Generals shut-out the Legionnaires 4-0.

After the Moose Jaw goalie was able to weather the storm early on, the league leading Generals were able to get rolling.

Entering the late stages of the opening frame, the Generals struck quickly for a pair of goals, as Ahmed Ally and Reece Newkirk found the back of the net just 1:31 apart to quickly give Moose Jaw a 2-0 lead.

From that point on, the Generals continued to keep the pressure on Swift Current, while Legionnaires goalie Carter Woodside tried hold Swift Current in the game and keep pace with Arps.

Despite Woodside's efforts, Moose Jaw's Jake Tremblay found the back of the net with 4:43 remaining in the middle frame, giving the Generals some insurance.

The Legionnaires, however, did continue to battle but nothing they threw at Arps was going to get past him Wednesday night.

Moose Jaw want on to add an empty net goal in the late stages of the third to seal the victory.

In the end, Arps finished with a 27-save shut-out, while Woodside stopped 24 of the 27 shots he faced.

The contest was the first time the Generals and Legionnaires have met so far this season.

They will play three more times this season, with two of those games coming in December.

Meanwhile, the loss drops the Legionnaires to 8-12-0-3 on the season, as they remain in a three-way tie for sixth place in league standings.

Swift Current will look to get back in the win column on Saturday when they visit Prince Albert for a pair of weekend games against the Mintos.
