Legionairres Center Lukas Biensch and Winger Blake Fournier battle off the draw during last night's 2-1 win over Moose Jaw.

The Swift Current AAA Midget Home Hardware Legionairres won a tight, back and forth game versus the Moose Jaw Generals last night 2-1.

The match-up was so even it had to be decided in overtime but the Legion got a goal from Justin Spagrud 26 seconds into the extra frame to come out on top.

Legionairres Head Coach Jason Johns liked team's effort.

"We battled all night an we kept up with them, or they kept up with us I think. We outshot them. I think it was a 60 minute game and definitely exciting for the fans to win it in (overtime), and it's a big two points for us."

He believes their good play last night has just carried over from their showing at the Kelowna International Major Midget Tournament.

"We played some really good hockey out there, and had some really close games, and it was great to see the boys conitinue and there's was no jet lag...The boys showed the effort tonight and came away with the two points that they deserve."

The Legion continue their push for home ice advantage in the play-offs when they visit the Regina Pat-Canadians on Saturday.
