The WHL’s first Player of the Week Award for the 2017-18 season has been given to Kelowna Rockets forward Kole Lind.

The Shaunavon product has gotten off to a tremendous start to the season after totalling 8 points (5 G, 3 A) through the first two games of the season, a pair of wins over the Kamloops Blazers.

In the season opener on Friday, the 18-year-old recorded two assists, along with the game-winning-goal in a 6-2 win.

Following that up the next night, Lind single-handedly outscored the Blazers, and had a hand in all of the team's goals in a 5-2 win over the Blazers. Lind had a not-so-pedestrian 4 goals and one assist.

The forward was drafted 33rd overall in the second round of this year’s NHL draft, and recorded an 87-point season last year with the Rockets.
