Some local products have made noise in university hockey.
Hazlet's Andrew Bailey, Swift Current's Brett Ward and the Saskatchewan Huskies beat the University of Manitoba 2 games to 1 to win the Canada West Men's Hockey Semifinal.
The Huskies will play the University of Alberta Golden Bears in the final next weekend.
They host the University Cup this year and also feature former Broncos like Jordan Peddle and Kyke Bortis.
Meanwhile, Shaunavon's Hayley Wickenheiser, Swift Current's Jenna Smith and the University of Calgary Dinos advanced to the CIS Women's Hockey Championship by winning their series against Alberta 2 games to 1.
The Dinos will now play the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds in the Canada West women's hockey championship next weekend and then at the CIS women's hockey championship tournament in Toronto from March 7-10.
Wickenheiser and Smith are the team's leading scorers.
