Some maintenance at Mitchell Field has caused the cancellation of a Midget AAA Indians game tonight

Three local products tried to make an impression on the Sask First evaluators as they joined the provincial team for a tournament in Alberta last weekend.

“All three of them played fairly well," said Midget AAA Indians Coach Neil Hogg, who was part of the Sask First staff. "Zac Mackay started in 2 games and pitched in 1 game, Reid Fritzke started in 2 games, and BJ Moen only played in 1 game. He's still only 14 years old but he did well too.”

The Sask First team went 2-2 with a younger roster of mostly 16 and 15 year olds. Moen made the roster despite his age.

“Well he is one of the hardest throwing kids in the province right now in our age group," Hogg said. "That's counting right up to 17 year olds. He's quite a talent.”

The Swift Current AAA Indians game that was scheduled for 7pm tonight has been cancelled due to the unavailability of Mitchell Field which is undergoing some maintenance.
