Former Swift Current Broncos captain Adam Lowry scored a goal in his first NHL playoff game, but his Winnipeg Jets fell 4-2 in Anaheim last night.

Lowry directed in a pass 2:46 into the first period to tie the game and give Winnipeg an immediate response to Anaheim's opening goal.

The Jets had a 2-1 lead after two periods and couldn't hold the Ducks off in the third.

Lowry had 23 points in 80 games as a rookie in helping the Jets clinch a playoff spot for the first time since coming back to Winnipeg. Game 2 of their series is set for Saturday.

Other results from Thursday night include Detroit beating Tampa Bay 3-2, Minnesota doubled St. Louis 4-2 and the New York Rangers stopped Pittsburgh 2-1.

Broncos Alumnus Dale Weise and the Montreal Canadiens host Ottawa on Friday night for game 2 of their intense first round series. Former Broncos defenceman Michal Rozsival and the Chicago Blackhawks take a 1-0 lead into game 2 of their series with Nashville.
