Ahead of tonight's regular season opener in Moose Jaw, the Swift Current Broncos have cut down to three overage players with the release of Christian Magnus.

The former first round bantam draft pick went unclaimed.

Full Interview with Mark Lamb "We wish him the best," said Broncos Coach and GM Mark Lamb. "We wanted him to get picked up, it didn't happen, he could still get picked up. He's a great person, he's a real leader on our hockey team."

Lamb realized the move leaves Swift Current with only one right handed shot in their forward group.

"We got some guys that are pretty talented that have played the offside. I think you can coach against that. Guys who are on their backhand, you can use it as a tactic to go against. In a perfect world you would like to have them left, right but even on the wings you take the best players available and we are happy with the players we have here right now."

The departure of Magnus leaves the Broncos with Chance Lund, Ryon Moser and Dalton Reum as their 20-year-olds.
