The Maple Creek and Gull Lake girls' curling teams are SHSAA Provincials-bound after clinching berths at Regionals over the weekend in Moose Jaw.

Maple Creek claimed the Gold medal after defeating Assiniboia 6-2, then topping Gull Lake 8-5.

Meanwhile for Gull Lake, they won 10-6 over Moose Jaw Central in their opener, and 8-3 over LCBI in Game 2.

After that loss to Maple Creek, Gull Lake rebounded with a 7-3 B Final win over that same MJ Central team.

Girls' Curling Provincials go March 9-10 in Ituna.

Other southwest teams at Regionals in Moose Jaw were the Swift Current Comp boys and Ponteix boys.

Both teams fell just short of bids to reach Provincials with 1-2 records.

And at Mixed Curling Regionals in Assiniboia, Maple Creek and Hodgeville suffered the same fate as the southwest boys teams in Moose Jaw.

The mixed teams both went .500 or lower.
