Marleau had an assist in San Jose's victory

Aneroid's Patrick Marleau, former Bronco Ian White and the San Jose Sharks are off to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.  Marleau set up Joe Thornton at 2:22 of overtime as the Sharks beat the LA Kings 4-3 to take the series in six games.  Dany Heatley, Kyle Wellwood and Jason Demers had the other goals for the Sharks, who killed of a five-minute penalty that stretched from the third period into overtime.

Sharks Coach and former Broncos bench boss Todd McLellan says they learned a lot about themselves in the close serise with LA. He credits his leadership with stepping up at key times as the Sharks knocked off their California rival.

There will be a seventh and deciding game between the Penguins and Lightning.  Steve Downie scored the winner in the third and added two assists as Tampa Bay beat Pittsburgh 4-2 in Game 6.  Game 7 goes Wednesday night in the Steel City.

The Vancouver Canucks are going back to Roberto Luongo for Game 7 of their series with Chicago.  Luongo was benched in favour of Cory Schneider Game 6, but was pressed into action when the Canucks backup was injured in the third.  Chicago has stormed back to tie the series after dropping the first three games.

Also tonight, Stewart Valley's Travis Moen, former Bronco Brent Sopel and the Montreal Canadiens try to stay alive at home against Boston. The Bruins lead the series 3-2. Shaunavon's Braydon Coburn and the Philadelphia Flyers host Buffalo  for game 7 of their series.
