Aneroid's Patrick Marleau scored again and had an assist as the San Jose Sharks beat former Bronco Dale Weise and the Vancouver Canucks 4-1 in NHL action Sunday.

Marleau has 9 goals in 5 games this season. He had scored twice in each of their first four games.

"It would have been nice to keep it going," Marleau told reporters. He was the first player to score 2 goals in four straight games since Ottawa's Cy Denneny in 1917-18.

Marleau talked about what he has been doing so far this season that he wants to keep up.

"Just being in front of the net when shots are coming... causing a little havok there."

Marleau leads the NHL in goals and points early in the lockout shortened season.

Elsewhere, former Bronco Paul Postma and the Winnipeg Jets beat the New York Islanders 5-4 in overtime.

Maple Creek's Zack Smith and the Ottawa Senators fell 2-1 to Pittsburgh.

Tampa Bay beat Shaunavon's Braydon Coburn and the Philadelphia Flyers 5-1.
