A 1-2 record was not enough for the Midget 57's to reach the playoffs over the weekend at the Midget 'AA' Tier I Provincial being held in Swift Current.

Playing their opening game of the tournament on Friday, Swift Current had to deal with a tough loss.

Despite holding a lead of 7-4 at one point, and a 9-7 advantage heading to the bottom of the 7th, Swift Current was unable to hold on.

The Diamondbacks went on to cash three runs in the inning to walk-off the 57's 10-9.

In their first of two Saturday games, Swift Current came back with a strong response.

The 57's evened their record at 1-1, rolling past the Regina Buffalos 11-0.

The win kept the team's playoff hopes alive, but a tough night against Moose Jaw under the lights at Mitchell Field snuffed out any playoff opportunity.

The Canucks came out strong at the plate and downed Swift Current 12-3 bringing an end to the 57's 2017 season.

Graduating from the 57's this year will be Ayden Annala, Dayne Stenson and Ethan Warkentin.
