A heartbreaking double-OT loss puts the Swift Current Abbey Resources Midget AA Broncos on the edge of elimination.

The Midget Broncos fell 2-1 to the Regina Rangers in the five-frame game, with the lone goal off the stick of John Priela.

Priela scored on the power play just 3:30 into the game on an assist from Aaron Wittmier.

The Midget Broncos carried the lead past the midway point of the second period, until a Rangers' power play blast with 7:27 left in the frame tied it up at 1-1.

Neither team could solve the opposing netminder for the next 45 minutes until, with 12:31 left in the second OT period, the Rangers sealed the game with the sudden-death goal off by Jervahn Malabre-Gyorfi.

The Midget Broncos were out-shot 37-32, with netminder Jacob Herman making a steady 35 saves in the OT loss.

Now down 2-0 in the best-of-five series, the Midget Broncos are in Regina Friday night looking to keep their season alive.
