After a split at home last weekend, the Swift Current Abbey Resources Midget AA Broncos managed to find the brooms this time around, working a weekend sweep of the visiting Yorkton Terriers.

The Midget Broncos tripled up the Terriers 6-2 on Saturday at Fairview West despite getting outshot 29-24 by the away side. Swift Current scored once in the first period, twice in the second, and three times in the third.

Brad Nyen performed steadily in net, stopping 27 shots for his third win of the season.

The Midget Broncos' other goaltender also had himself a game on Sunday, to continue his trend of a scary good start to his 2017-18 regular season as the team approaches the Halloween mark on the schedule.

Jacob Herman turned aside every Terrier shot in the game on his way to a 3-0 shutout win.

The Midget Broncos' penalty killing unit locked down Yorkton in the weekend series, holding the eastern Saskatchewan squad to just a 1-for-13 mark on the man-advantage.

Another positive was the even scoring distribution over the weekend for Swift Current, as five Broncos were tied at three for the top point total.

Brock Herter led the way with a pair of goals and an assist, while Matthew Christianson (1 G, 2 A), Quinn Patenaude (1 G, 2 A), Rhett Evjen (1 G, 2 A), and Beau Larson (3 A) rounded out the quintet.

The first-place Midget Broncos (6-1-1) next play in Regina against the Capitals (4-3) on October 31.
