It was a good weekend, but it was just not quite enough for the Swift Current Bantam and Midget Indians at their league championship tournaments.

The Bantam Indians made it to the league championship game in the tournament hosted in Regina.  The Indians even upset the top-ranked Moose Jaw Mallards 6-1 in the semi-final to reach the championship game.  They rallied back but lost in the final 7-6 to the Regina Pacers.  The Indians now prepare for Provincials this coming weekend in Melville.

The Swift Current Midget Indians took in the AAA PMBL playoff tournament.  They advanced to the final as well, going 3-0.  They lost in the final in a very unfortunate way.  Leading 4-2 in the final game, the Indians made the mistake of having a pitcher toss too many outs.  Under league rules, a pitcher can only pitch for so many innings in a day or weekend tournament.  As a result, they lost by forfeit.
